Hospitals and Institutions (H&I)

Hospitals and Institutions Subcommittee conducts panels that carry the NA message to addicts who often have no other way of hearing our message. Treatment panels are conducted for patients at addiction treatment centers, mental health facilities, and therapeutic communities. Correctional panels are held for inmates at jails, prisons, and forensic hospitals.

Hospitals and Institutions meetings/presentations, except for those in longer term facilities, are intended to simply introduce those attending to some of the basics of the NA program. The format of any particular Hospitals and Institutions meeting/presentation may vary from meeting to meeting depending on the type of facility. In short term facilities, the format will be more focused on the panel members carrying a message in to the residents, while at a long term facility we may encourage more participation from the residents.

The San Francisco Area of Narcotics Anonymous Hospitals and Institutions Subcommittee needs secretaries to carry the NA message into local hospitals and institutions. Please attend the monthly H&I subcommittee meeting on the first Saturday of the month. There is a 5:00 p.m. orientation for those who are new to Hospitals and Institutions service, and the regular Hospitals and Institutions subcommittee meets for 60 minutes at 5:30 p.m.
